CellBank
Cell Storage and Cell Banking Services
CellBank is DrSignal Biotechnology’s cell storage and cell banking service, covering the full chain from sample intake and isolation through controlled-rate freezing, liquid nitrogen storage and retrieval. The service runs on a dual-site redundant configuration in Taipei and Taichung with a combined tank capacity of 120,000 vials, while IoT sensors monitor liquid nitrogen levels and tank temperature around the clock and raise an alert within 30 seconds of any anomaly.

Sample Intake & Processing
Smart Sample Intake and Processing
Once a sample arrives under cold chain conditions, a barcode system verifies its identity and creates its record, and tissue dissociation and cell counting are performed in a biosafety cabinet. All processing takes place in an ISO Class 7 environment, with a timestamp for each step written automatically into the storage management system.
Cryogenic Storage & Monitoring
Cryogenic Storage and Environmental Monitoring
A controlled-rate freezer brings samples down to −80°C at 1°C per minute before they are transferred to vapor-phase liquid nitrogen tanks for long-term storage at −196°C. IoT sensors continuously report tank level, temperature and door-opening counts, and the complete history is retained for audit.
Service Process
From online booking to retrieval, the service runs through eight stages. Every sample carries a unique barcode bound to its storage coordinates, and clients can check storage status, test reports and environmental monitoring records through a dedicated account.

Service Advantages
Dual-Site Redundancy Reduces Single-Point Risk
The Taipei and Taichung storage sites are configured with equal redundancy, so a single sample can be split across both locations — no incident at one facility can put the entire deposit at risk.
24-Hour IoT Environmental Monitoring
Liquid nitrogen levels, tank temperature and door-opening records are reported every 60 seconds. Any anomaly notifies both the duty staff and the client contact by SMS and email within 30 seconds.
Barcode-Bound End-to-End Traceability
Every operation from intake to release is bound to the sample barcode and the operator account. Records meet electronic records and electronic signature requirements, and the full operating history can be traced back ten years.
