The service covers loading condition screening, encapsulation process development, in vitro release and stability validation through small-scale trial production, carried out in closed tubing and an ISO Class 7 environment, with batch-to-batch variation in loading efficiency and particle size distribution kept within 15%.

Depending on the drug molecule's properties, loading is performed by electroporation, co-incubation or saponin permeabilization, with loading efficiency and integrity assessed by nanoparticle tracking analysis and fluorescence quantification. After encapsulation, free drug is removed by tangential flow filtration in a closed loop, keeping the free fraction below 5%.
